
Belkin Apple Watch Charger Add-On
Overview
This project is a custom mechanical add-on designed to upgrade an existing Belkin 2-in-1 iPhone and AirPods charger by adding an integrated holder for the Apple Watch magnetic charging puck.
The design solves a common issue: Not all Belkin chargers include Apple Watch support, requiring users to keep a separate cable on the desk.The add-on arm attaches securely to the Belkin charger’s structure without modifying the original product. It positions the Apple Watch puck at the correct height, angle, and distance for comfortable and reliable charging.
The holder features a simple cylindrical enclosure for the magnetic puck, a stable support arm, and a weight-balanced base connection. All parts were modeled in CAD for precise fit and printed for fast prototyping.
This solution turns an existing charger into a clean, compact, and functional 3-in-1 charging station.

Challenge
The main challenge was designing an add-on that: -Fits perfectly onto the Belkin charger without screws, glue, or modification -Holds the Apple Watch puck firmly without wobbling -Maintains a balanced center of mass so the charger remains stable -Matches the aesthetic and geometry of a commercial product Ensuring compatibility while designing around Belkin’s fixed shape and dimensions required precise modeling and careful tolerance control.
Solution
-Modeled the Belkin charger in CAD to design a perfectly matched mounting interface -Created a custom cylindrical clip that securely holds the Apple Watch charging puck -Designed a rigid support arm that positions the watch at an ideal charging angle -Selected wall thickness and geometry that provide strength while remaining visually clean -Used 3D printing to quickly test fit, adjust tolerances, and refine the final shape The final add-on integrates seamlessly with the charger and feels like a natural extension of the original product.
